Hey, the Red Sox kick-off Spring Training in Hammond Park, Ft. Myers, Florida against the Minnesota Twins. It was a game that the Sox were never behind in. A good sign to start the season. They scored the first 3 runs in the 4th inning. Daisuke Matsuzaka started the game. Jacoby Ellsbury, Our young rookie, did not play in this game, to the dismay of fans. Coco Crisp took his place in Center. Coco also stole 2 bases and scored once before being replace by Joe Thurston, who usually plays infield. Kevin Youkillis hit a 2 run homer in the 4th and right after that Jason Varitek hit a solo, for back to back home runs.Boof Bonser started for the Twins. He was long gone when the Twins hit their only homer in the 6th. Gomez, a closing ptcher in this game, gave up a three run homer in the top of the ninth, to give the Boston team a 8-1 lead. But then in the bottom of the 9th 2 runs score by the Twins. Then the next batter strikes out.Final Score: Red Sox: 8 Twins:3
